Description

Resilience First Aid (RFA) is an evidence-informed mental health and wellbeing program that equips individuals with practical skills to recognise when someone may be struggling, provide meaningful support, and help build resilience before challenges escalate into more serious mental health concerns.

Unlike traditional mental health training that often focuses on crisis intervention, Resilience First Aid takes a proactive approach by helping people identify early signs of stress, adversity, burnout, and declining wellbeing. Participants learn how to have supportive conversations, strengthen protective factors, and create environments where individuals and teams can thrive.

Developed by Driven, the program is built around the six evidence-based resilience domains:

  • Vision – Developing purpose, meaning and direction.

  • Composure – Managing emotions and stress effectively.

  • Reasoning – Maintaining perspective and problem-solving skills.

  • Tenacity – Building persistence and adaptability.

  • Collaboration – Strengthening social connection and support networks.

  • Health – Supporting physical and psychological wellbeing.

Who Should Attend?

Resilience First Aid is ideal for:

  • Managers and team leaders

  • Human resources professionals

  • Health and wellbeing champions

  • First responders and emergency services personnel

  • Educators and community leaders

Why Resilience First Aid?

In today's fast-paced and demanding environments, organisations are increasingly recognising the importance of preventative wellbeing strategies. Resilience First Aid provides a practical, strengths-based approach that complements existing mental health initiatives and helps create healthier, more productive, and more resilient workplaces.

By focusing on early intervention and resilience-building, RFA empowers people not only to respond when someone is struggling, but to actively contribute to a culture where individuals and teams can flourish.

FAQs

  • Is the course nationally accredited?

No — Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training in Australia is not part of the formal nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) system under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). That means it doesn’t issue nationally recognised VET certificates or statements of attainment like HLTAID units do.

MHFA courses are delivered under licence by accredited instructors through Mental Health First Aid Australia, and successful participants receive a certificate of MHFA accreditation (usually valid for 3 years) rather than an AQF-accredited qualification.

However, these courses are widely respected in workplaces and communities as evidence-based, best-practice mental health training and are often recognised in organisational training strategies and workplace health and safety frameworks.
