A hands on educational session for health professionals 

Outcomes for this workshop includes:

    • Be able to describe clinically important physiology respiratory system and pathophysiologic mechanisms of respiratory failure.
    • Understand the mechanisms by which various respiratory organ supports (e.g. supplemental oxygen, Humidified High Flow Oxygen and Non-Invasive Ventilation) function and be able to apply this to the selection of an appropriate intervention for a given patient.
    • Be confident in the assessment and management of common respiratory emergencies, including asthma, COPD, parenchymal infections, and pleural pathologies.

This program is suitable for ALL staff who work in the Emergency Care Setting.  Particularly Medical Staff, RMO's/JMO's, Associateship in Emergency Medicine Candidates- Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced, Nurses, GPs, Career Paramedics, and Medical and Nursing Students



Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided.

Places are limited and priority will be given to individuals who provide Emergency Care in the Limestone Coast Local Health Network.

This session will also be presented across all sites of the LCLHN throughout 2025.
