Description

Run in association with Full Stop Australia, Responding with Compassion, is a three-hour online workshop designed to assist those who may receive disclosures of trauma. We encourage music workers, artist managers, HR managers, People and Culture Managers and those in positions of leadership to attend.

The workshop will run from 10am - 1pm (AEST) on Wednesday 17th of July, online.

It will support individuals to cultivate psychologically safe workplaces which are conducive to making disclosures, as well as form an individual framework to provide a compassionate, trauma-informed response to a disclosure.

When someone discloses experiencing trauma, the initial response is critical to their recovery and decisions about what to do next.

Through this workshop, participants will:

• Gain a deeper understanding of sexual violence in Australia (through statistics and key definitions)
• Understand trauma, including the short- and long-term impacts
• Understand the barriers to reporting, and discuss how to minimise these barriers
• Learn how to deliver trauma-informed responses
• Receive information about state-based referral pathways

The workshop will be contextualised to include case scenarios and information relevant to the Australian music industry.
