Rest to Rise, Give to Nourish: a wellness day to support families in Gaza
Event description
A day of poetry, yoga, and panel discussion to de/colonize mental health as a fundraiser for Renew Roots, an organization sending food directly to families in Gaza. There will also be vendors, food, and a raffle with all proceeds donated. $100 gets one week's worth of food for to a family in Gaza. Help us raise $5000.
More Info:
Please join La La Lil Jidar and Yogis for Palestine for a day of mindful stillness, gentle movement, and collective care—rooted in the belief that when we restore ourselves, we rise stronger for others. Through yoga, meditation, and shared wellness practices, we remember Gaza and channel our inner peace into tangible action to continue our resistance by raising funds to provide food parcels for displaced Palestinian families living in tents in Gaza. Every breath taken in stillness becomes a ripple of nourishment reaching a Palestinian heart.
The day will include yoga, panel discussion on mental health, breathwork, poetry, kids art, food from local SWANA chefs, vendors, and raffle. Please bring a mat if you are able to. Feel free to participate in any part of the day. See agenda below for tentative times of different parts of the program.
Primary Goal: Fund at least 50 food parcels ($5,000) to feed 50 families (approx. 250–350 people).
Entry:
No one will be turned away. This is a sliding scale event in which all funds go directly to Renew Root. We are asking for a minimum of $25 if possible. $100 feeds one family for a week. Any entry donations $125+ will have your name/message on a food parcel distributed in Al Mawasi, Palestine.
Renew Roots
Renew Roots works with trusted local teams to assemble and deliver food parcels directly to families in Gaza. Parcels contain essentials such as rice, lentils, beans, flour, oil, canned goods, and fresh produce where possible. Families are prioritized based on urgency—widows, households with young children, or those with no other source of aid. Direct aid means no middlemen—funds go from donors to Renew Roots to vetted local partners
