RESTORE
Event description
Come join us for Restore: a restorative and creative 3-hour experience at
Nakai Studios.
Join Ruth (a certified spiritual director and creative) and Shannon (a licensed clinical therapist), as they guide you through a contemplative process inspired by Kintsugi– the Japanese art form that repairs broken objects and approaches breakage as something to be highlighted vs. hidden. As you walk through this process, you will be invited to tend to the sacred reality of imperfection and notice beauty in your story.
Who is this experience for?
Restore is for anyone who is looking to slow down and connect deeply with themselves and/or with the Divine/God. No prior contemplative or artistic experience is required.
What makes this experience special?
In addition to a guided restorative and creative experience, all Restore participants will have access to:
- light refreshments served with coffee, tea and juice
- a warm and hospitable studio environment suitable for personal reflection and inspiration
- a well-curated gathering space (designed for group conversation and/or personal solitude)
- all materials needed for the creation of a Kintsugi-inspired art piece* to be taken home
(*Note: the process of Kintsugi embraces imperfection and slowing down. Folks may not walk out with a "perfect" piece of created art, but we trust that the piece will hold meaning and value due to the process through which you created it)
Who will be guiding me?
Restore is facilitated by:
- Ruth Lin Nakai (she/her) is a Certified Spiritual Director and a Creative. She is passionate about spiritual care and about cultivating spaces of curiosity, possibility, healing, and liberation.
- Shannon Krabill (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in end of life care and clinical therapy focused on grief, trauma and spiritual integration. She hopes to increase access to joy for others (and herself) through her work.
Both Ruth and Shannon are passionate about creating warm, safe and welcoming spaces for curious folks.
What is the cost for this experience?
The cost is $75/attendee or (invite a friend for a discount!) $140/two attendees.
