Restoring Healthy Soils
Event description
Save time and money in the garden by shoring up the foundations: soil. In this workshop Craig Castree reveals some key fundamentals to restoring healthy soils including the magic of humus and importance of microbial activity. While soil might not be the typical topic of conversation, it’s time it became a priority. His new book, Soil is Not A Dirty Word goes beyond just sounding the alarm, it offers a solution after solution to the problems most of us never knew we had with soil. We'll take a regenerative approach that revitalises the soil, reduces reliance on chemical inputs, and restores its nutrient density. Castree’s strategies promise to revolutionise edible gardening, farming, and growing food plants.
Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc to swap and share!
Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.
