I use seasonal ingredients, and nutrient rich foods to spread the awareness that food can be both delicious and nourishing, and incorporating the medicinal approach to the healing power of food.
I look forward to sharing, connecting, eating and simply being together to find a new way of being in the world.
ANITA JOY - Is a qualified Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic Therapist, Healer, Event Boss, Mother, Oma and Yogini.
My wellness journey started in my late teens where one of my best friends introduced mystical adventures and vegetarianism into my life. It was from those pivotal moments I continued to discover a whole new world opening gently, and wholeheartedly, experiencing healing circles, yoga, meditation, ecstatic dance, breath-work, holistic health and nutrition, conservation, many modes of psychotherapy, diverse faiths and at times just pure unexplainable magic.
My passion for holistic health and wellness flourished. Yoga became my life. In 2012 I found my yoga home at the Gold Coast Yoga centre, a classical yoga space dedicated to the traditional lineage and authenticity of Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa. I accomplished my 5-year yoga teacher education with my teachers Suzanne Gray, Mark Togni, Katherine Anne, and Cameron Storey in 2020.
I travelled to Kerala, India in 2015, to immerse myself in a month’s long yoga sabbatical at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram. It was here that I deepened my knowledge on the fundamentals of Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga. Ayurveda is considered the oldest living healing science. Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life, right thinking, diet, lifestyle, and the use of herbs.
In 2017 I completed my Ayurvedic massage therapies training in Bali, focusing in Abhyanga (full body massage) and Shirodhara (warm oil therapy) both treatments’ have a profound impact on the nervous system, bringing balance and calm to body, mind, and spirit.
I have facilitated many events and retreats and love holding space for all bodies, capabilities, ages, and genders. I share my understanding of yoga, philosophy, and life wisdoms uniquely and with Joy, I welcome you to join me to find your magic.
