Retro Riff: Assemblage Guitar Art Show
Event description
Retro Riff showcases 30+ dazzling assemblage art guitars created by Les Toth, the former Melbourne club DJ and sometimes actor, model and bodyguard to travelling rock stars. His colorful life is reflected in his art which is showcased alongside his photographs and music that influenced his career.
The exhibitionwill be staged at the rear of the Cyril Callister Musuem, which showcases the life work and legacy of Australian scientist Dr Cyril Callister and his invention Vegemite. As a special treat, Les is creating two guitars inspired by the iconic breakfast spread that will stay at the museum after his exhibition closes.
Live music and free assemblage art workshops will be held Fridays, once a month, throughout the exhibition. Choose from: 18 October, 15 November, 13 December or 24 January: 5pm - 7pm
Nearby Magnolia's Wine Bar and Café offers a special i-riff set menu for workshop participants.
Retro Riff is inspired by Medieval to Metal, a new exhibition currently on show at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
