Returning to the Wild Woman

An Art Therapy Journey Inspired by Women Who Run With the Wolves

There are parts of ourselves we can lose touch with along the way.

Our intuition.
Our instincts.
Our inner knowing.

Returning to the Wild Woman is an invitation to turn inward and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become quiet beneath the expectations, roles and experiences of life.

Inspired by Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ Women Who Run With the Wolves, each workshop explores a different story and the wisdom it holds for us.

Each workshop is a standalone experience and an individual journey. You don't need to have attended a previous workshop. You simply come as you are, with your own story, your own questions and your own experience.

Through guided visualisation, creative expression, reflection and connection, you are invited to explore what the story awakens within you and discover what your own inner world may be trying to tell you.

This Workshop: Nosing Out the Facts

The Retrieval of Intuition as Initiation — Vasalisa the Wise

This workshop draws on the story of Vasalisa the Wise and the journey of learning to trust our intuition.

Vasalisa carries a small doll in her pocket — a symbol of the instinctive self, the inner wisdom and guidance that lives within her.

Yet many of us have learned to look outside ourselves for answers.

We question what we feel.
We second-guess our instincts.
We dismiss the quiet voice within us.

This workshop is an invitation to slow down and listen.

What might your inner wisdom be trying to tell you?

Your Expression, Your Journey

There is no right or wrong way to express what is within you.

This is not about creating a particular image or producing something that looks a certain way. It is about allowing your own expression to emerge and giving space to what lies beneath the surface.

Through the creative process, you are invited to move beyond thinking and doing, and instead listen inwardly to your subconscious and inner knowing.

Following the guided visualisation, you will be invited to choose the creative materials that feel right for you and allow an image to emerge intuitively — without needing to know beforehand what you are going to create.

There is no need to plan, interpret or make sense of it as you create.

Simply listen.

Notice what comes forward.

Allow your hand to respond.

The image that emerges becomes an expression of something within you that may be ready to be seen, felt or heard.

The focus is not on artistic ability or creating something beautiful. It is about listening to what needs to be heard and allowing your inner world to speak through image.

Your artwork belongs entirely to you. There is no right interpretation and no expectation to explain it.

It is your individual expression, your inner knowing, your journey.

Connection in Community

While the journey is deeply personal, you will be held within a supportive circle of women.

There will be an opportunity to reflect and connect on a deeper level with women in your community — to share what you choose, to be witnessed, to listen and to experience the power of being together.

You may arrive as strangers.

You may leave feeling a little more connected — to yourself, to your own inner knowing, and perhaps to the women around you.

An Invitation to Return

To slow down.

To listen inward.

To trust your instincts.

To honour the wisdom that lives within you.

And perhaps, to remember the woman who has known the way all along.

Returning to the Wild Woman
An individual art therapy journey, held in the company of women.

No previous experience with art or art therapy is required.

Come as you are.
There is nothing you need to know or prepare.

Simply bring yourself, an open mind, and a willingness to listen to what wants to emerge.
