Event description

A free screening of the documentary Transit Havana (2016) to mark Pride month by linking the struggle for trans and queer liberation to that of class struggle. Two speakers representing the Communist Party of Canada and the Canada Cuba Friendship Association will share their insights on Cuba's New Family Code, and how parallels can be drawn between this highly progressive legislation and the Communist position in Canada, and why 2SLGBTQI+ rights and liberties are untenable under capitalism.

Light refreshments will be served at no charge.

Please note that 918 Bathurst is not a wheelchair accessible venue. Spaces are accessed via several short flights of stairs.
