Description

Trainee and Trainer Teaching Day

Life transitions, such as the shift from childhood to adulthood, midlife to older age, junior to senior roles, or becoming a patient, can unsettle our sense of identity, evoke earlier attachment dynamics, and bring unconscious conflicts to the surface.

Psychotherapy provides a containing space in which these transitions can be explored, understood, and integrated. This day will examine how psychotherapeutic approaches can support us as we navigate changing roles, mourn past selves, and negotiate emerging patterns of relating.

We will consider how therapists can recognise the psychological vulnerabilities specific to periods of transition, and how these moments can also become opportunities for growth and transformation.

Speakers include: Stephen Grosz (Psychoanalyst & Author); Sarah Clark (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist & Neuroscience Researcher); Group Relations Conference & The Barnsley Street Project. More to be announced soon!

All those interested in, or working within, psychotherapy are warmly welcome.
