JJ Spence

JJ Spence brings a fresh, genre-blending sound to the stage—melding intricate fingerstyle guitar with rich grooves and uniquely crafted songwriting. His music invites listeners into a world of sound that grooves, reflects, and uplifts—rooted in themes of hope, self-discovery, and gratitude.

Fresh from an immersive journey to Bamako, Mali, where he studied traditional rhythms with griot musicians and explored the textures of West African guitar and djembe, JJ returns with a deeper rhythmic sensibility and a broadened musical perspective.
