Richmond Catchment BioBlitz - Webinar

Join the catchment wide Richmond RiverFest BioBlitz, a coordinated series of local surveys across the Richmond catchment where community groups, schools and individuals go out and record every plant, animal and fungus they can find, all logged onto one shared project so we can see the full picture of what’s living across our rivers and waterways.

The idea is simple. Each partner or group picks a site in their area, whether that’s a riverbank, a wetland, a reserve or a stretch of creek, and runs a short survey session sometime during the festival, from World Rivers Day on 27 September through to 25 October. Everyone uses the free iNaturalist app to photograph and log what they find. All the sightings feed into one catchment wide project, so by the end of the month we’ll have a snapshot of biodiversity right across the Richmond.

We’d love you to be part of it. This could mean:

• Hosting a BioBlitz session at a site your group already looks after

• Helping promote the project to your members and networks

• Sending along a local expert to help with identification on the day

• Simply taking part and logging your own observations
