RIDE ALL DAY DAY! (women / trans / femme cycling event)
Event description
RIDE ALL DAY DAY
What's Ride All Day Day? It's a day where you ride all day!
This particular Ride All Day Day is hosted by Team Snacks Cycling, so it's for women / trans / femme riders.
Here's the plan
Team Snacks is hosting three bike rides on April 18th, and they can all be strung together. Our ride leaders will be sure to guide you from one ride to the next so you can have a full day of rides. Of course, you can bail at any point. Just be sure to let a ride leader know so they don't think they lost you!
Ride 1 - Dirt // Led by Alice
Wheels down at 9:00 AM at Govalle Neighborhood Park
This is a great ride for people who are curious about mountain biking. The trails are pretty tame, and it's totally okay to walk parts of it. If you have a mountain bike, that's great! But really any bike with knobby tires will do. We'll take breaks between trails and to allow folks to catch up. Be sure to bring water and snacks! The ride will probably only be like, 4 miles, but that can feel like a lot on trails. We don't have the exact route planned yet, but we do know we'll mostly stick to the dirt trails that are on the Southern end of Southern Walnut Creek where it's a bit flatter.
Ride 2 - Mostly bike paths // Led by Laura
Wheels down at 11:00 AM at Paggi Square (in Mueller)
This is our totally classic "Slow Your Roll" ride. It's designed to be safe and supportive. We take as many bike paths as possible, observe traffic laws, and always wait for people to catch up. It is about 14 miles total, and we'll average 10 - 12 mph. There is a water fountain break early in the ride and a store stop (Dear Diary Coffee) towards the end of the ride. Wear a helmet, bring water, invite your friends.
Ride 3 - Road // Led by Heidi
Wheels down at 2:00 PM at Paggi Square (in Mueller)
This ride will probably be around 25 miles. We're still working on the route. It's also a no-drop route, but we recommend coming if 15 mph seems like a doable average for you. If you are planning to do all three rides, we suggest riding a cross or gravel bike to Ride 1 so that you're not too weighed down for Ride 3. There will be a store stop. Don't forget water, snacks, and your helmet
