Ride for Education Welcome Sunday 1st June
Event description
Sunday 1st June at 4.30pm to 7pm.
Join us to welcome Muzafar Ali as he makes a stop on his incredible 4,000km bicycle ride from Maleny to Adelaide to raise funds for the education of Afghan girls who are banned from going to school, and for children who are stuck in limbo in places such as Indonesia and Thailand without the right to go to school. The evening will include a 15minute film followed by a Q&A with Muzafar and film-maker Jolyon Hoff.
The event is FREE but please bring a plate of food to share for a communal, informal dinner.
On the morning of Monday 2nd June, Muzafar and the team will ride along the Rail Trail. Later in the day, Muzafar will be visiting local schools to tell the children about the innovative education project that he initiated: Cisarua Learning.
Muzafar is a recent winner of the Fred Hollows Humanitarian Award for his untiring work; he is a Board Member of Jesuit Refugee Services; a patron of Rural Australians for Refugees, and a truly inspiring person. We hope you can join us to support him.
