Ride for Refugees - Grafton Cathedral
Event description
Former Hazara refugee and humanitarian Muzafar Ali will embark on an extraordinary 4,000km journey by bicycle from Meleny to Adelaide, to raise awareness and funds for refugee-led education and women's education in Afghanistan.
The ride is part of a campaign to raise $250,000 to support eight schools, 130 teachers, and over 2,000 students across seven countries through Cisarua Learning, a refugee-led organisation co-founded by Muzafar in 2014.
Local supporters in Grafton will welcome Muzafar on Wednesday 4th June at 6.30pm with a community soup night at the Grafton Cathedral Parish Centre, giving residents a chance to hear firsthand about the transformative power of education for refugees and Afghan women living under Taliban rule.
