Ridgetop Redwoods

Walk begins at the Blossom Rock Historic Landmark marker, near Madrone Picnic area, in Roberts Recreation Area. Hike 1.5 miles through Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park from Roberts Recreation Area to Redwood Bowl (near Chabot Science Center) and return. Learn how sea captains in the early 1900’s used the tallest trees to navigate away from the treacherous Blossom Rock and about the sleuthing that resulted in a State Historic Landmark designation. Become acquainted with the history and evolution of the current redwood forest. Regular; a modestly hilly walk

• PLEASE MEET 15 MINUTES BEFORE listed time to allow for registration.

• We kindly request you register in advance. In-person registration will be first-come-first-served on a space available basis. We cannot guarantee a spot will be available.

• We offer fee waivers for limited income residents— just ask!

• Comfortable walking shoes, sun hats and sunscreen are recommended. Bring water.
