Discover the Adelaide Park Lands from a new perspective on this relaxed and engaging guided cycling tour with Horticulturist Matt Jorgensen and Biodiversity Leader Steph Pastore. Travelling by bike through some of the city’s iconic green spaces, participants will explore the vital role seeds play in shaping the Park Lands.

Along the way, riders will visit a variety of Park Lands environments and learn how seeds are collected, propagated and used to support biodiversity and urban canopy outcomes across the city. The tour will also explore the history of some of Adelaide’s mature plantings, highlighting the ongoing work involved in climate adaptation and the expansion and renewal of Adelaide’s urban forest.

Designed to be informative, accessible and conversational, the ride will include regular stops for discussion, observation and questions, making it suitable for nature lovers and first time explorers.

Participants are required to bring their own bicycle, helmet, water bottle and weather appropriate clothing. The cycling pace will be relaxed and suitable for a broad range of fitness and riding abilities.

Children are welcome to participate when accompanied by a parent or guardian and are confident, competent riders capable of safely completing the route and navigating shared use paths. The guided tour covers approximately 7 kilometre's, finishing at Pakapakanthi /Victoria Park (Park 16). Your hosts will be returning to the start point if you need guidance back.

While the tour will primarily use bitumen Park Lands trails and some gravel pathways, several major road crossings will be encountered. Adult supervision of children is required at all times, and all participants must follow directions provided by the tour guides to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
