Riley Catherall and Jacob Vincent
Event description
Jacob VincentΒ takes the rough and tumble spirit of Americana music, infusing it with distinctive hues of Australian storytelling.
Jacobβs lineage is steeped in song. His grandfather, Max Kettle, was one third of The Singing Kettles - a Tasmanian sibling group immortalised in the Roll of Renown in 2005. On the cusp of global pandemic, Jacob poured every cent he had (and some he didnβt) into his debut EP, 'Cold & Blue', before cutting his teeth in the crucible of intimate pub venues. The singer-songwriter later captivated audiences as a finalist in the prestigious Toyota
Starmaker, while at the 2024 Tamworth Country Music Festival he shared the bill with Kelly Cork on a sold out show. Alongside renowned producer, Shane Nicholson, Jacob embarks on a new chapter - crafting his debut album. Its first single, 'What Would I Say', offers a poignant reflection on the lives of ANZAC soldiers.
Riley CatherallΒ is a Singer-Songwriter based in Melbourne whose patient lyricism has received critical acclaim since his emergence onto the scene about a decade ago. Fresh off the back of sell out shows across the UK and Scandinavia promoting his new record "The Light, The Beautiful Liar", Riley has built a credible status as one of Australia's most promising songwriters through his poetic sincerity and alluring live shows.
"The Light, The Beautiful Liar" is Riley Catherall's second full-length record released in mid 2024. Singles "Bark At The Moon" and "Coming Down, Coming Over" flagship this collection of songs about the kind of love that desperately tries to endure the unwelcoming stark light of the morning. A tour of the UK and Scandinavia provided those who attended an insight into the workings of a prolific songwriter in the sophomore stage of his career.
