Rinne-Ne, Dialogue & Door84 pres. Toru Ikemoto (JP) & Blu Gum
Event description
Door 84, Rinn-Ne and Dialogue Records are joining forces on Friday April 11 for one huge little get together. Attempting to join the dots between our cities established and upcoming tastemakers, we’re in for a big one!
Joining us is Osaka DJ and composer Toru Ikemoto. The established music teacher at yell0w and label boss (AUM) will grace our basement with his full live set, as he visits town for his debut show. Toru is known for his diverse, hypnotic sound, honing in on deep, driving live techno. He has releases on labels such as BCCO and Nachto, as well as his through his own imprint, AUM.
We’ve also called up Meanjin expat and scene favourite Blu Gum for the proceedings.
Rounding out our lineup is Rinn-Ne resident and Osaka-to-Meanjin favourite Goodrug! Upcoming Bayside/Meanjin DJ Khino joins us to kick off proceedings.

TORU IKEMOTO
Toru Ikemoto started out his music career in 2002 and soon began releasing tracks he’d produced through techno labels such as on Monoid Recordings (Start EP002) with signature techno and minimal house sound.
His production releases have been piling up on a number of different labels from around the world with world-class DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Rødhad, Marrøn, Rene Wise and Joseph Capriati featuring his tracks in their club and party sets.
He’s also experienced success as a winner of various production competitions, such as those run through Plus Records & Cocoon Records. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by music industry magazines such as Mixmag, where his rising star has been recognised through a number of interviews about his work and performance.
Toru makes sure to stay well grounded in his roots, working with “SiNE,” the Osaka and Tokyo-based party crew he founded to run parties and production sessions focused on the freshest sounds in Techno and House. In 2017, he founded “yell0w,” his own DJ and production artist school in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, where he teaches and works to develop the next generation of up-and-coming local electronic artists as an Ableton Certified trainer.
