    Event description

Artback NT Touring in association with Bush Music Fund and Always Live Presents: Ripple Effect Band Mayawa South East Tour

Ripple Effect Band originate from the community of Maningrida in West Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. Whilst following in the tradition of saltwater rock from the top end, they are forging new ground and a new sound as the first women from their community to play instruments and make their own band. They sing in the languages of their people, Ndjébbana, Burarra, Na-kara and Kune and they have a story to tell about their land, their languages and their culture.

This tour sees them heading south to dates in NSW, ACT and Victoria where they'll be playing in support of their new album Mayawa. Known for delivering danceable rock-steady authentic music, this all female act are a force of nature, known for lighting up dancefloors across the country with feel good authenticity that can't be faked. Don't miss them perform at Gang Gang on Saturday the 16th November.

"You don't need to understand either the Aboriginal Australia language Kune or English to feel the emotion of the song." — ROLLING STONE
