    Event description

Gailla, Amelie Ecology and John Seed are presenting a benefit concert for Rising Tide at Narara Ecovillage. 50% of profits will go to Rising Tide and 50% will go to Gailla and Amelie Ecology. The coffee cart at the Ecovillage will open from 6:30pm.

Gailla creates golden folk-pop songs that delve into stories of climate optimism, despair, heartbreak, community and interdependence with our natural world and ourselves. Her songs exist to help remember our past and report on our present, in order for us to collectively imagine our future - one that is informed by community, regeneration and connection. She has toured across NSW, VIC and QLD and played over 10 festivals and 30 venues in Australia, including activist events such as campaign launches and at the Blockade of the World's Largest Coalport in Newcastle/Muloobinba. In 2023, she embarked on her Public Transport Tour, committing to only travelling via public transport from NSW to VIC. 2024 sees the release of her debut EP in October with a tour to celebrate.

Amelie Ecology is a science communicator, artist and educator conducting PhD research on native bees. She uses citizen science to explore the diversity and awareness of pollinators in urban community gardens and bushland, and is passionate about accessible, playful, and creative approaches to ecological science that involve active participation of our broader community. She is especially interested in involving young people as co-creators of scientific research, and grounding our inquiry in everyday experiences with our local environment- because we can all BEE Scientists! She has performed at events such as Woodford Folk Festival, Moreton Bay Kids Festival, National Folk Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, Footprints Ecofestival and more. Her debut album is set for release in Spring of 2024

John Seed is the founder of the Rainforest Information Centre in Australia. Since 1979 he has been involved in the direct actions which have resulted in the protection of the Australian rainforests. He has written and lectured extensively on deep ecology and has been conducting Councils of All Beings and other re-Earthing workshops around the world for 35 years.
