River health kayak trip Inverell
Event description
Join this unique kayak tour on Lake Inverell with ecologist Phil Spark. Paddle, check traps, and learn how to help local turtles, fish, birds and lizards thrive.
Event details:
Join Northern Tablelands Local Land Services for a unique kayaking adventure on Lake Inverell. Launching from the recreational area, we’ll paddle toward the National Park, where ecologist Phil Spark will check animal traps to reveal which creatures - turtles, fish, bats, and lizards - call this ecosystem home.
As we explore, Phil will share insights on local biodiversity and practical ways we can all help protect these species. This is a hands-on opportunity to connect with nature, learn from an expert, and understand how small actions can help wildlife thrive.
Please register by 6 November 2025.
Additional details:
Please wear clothing suitable for kayaking; you may get wet.
Please bring a broad hat and sunscreen, as you will be in the sun on the water.
All safety gear, kayaks, morning tea, and lunch will be provided.
