Event description

Local Indigenous artist, Chris Walker and RiverConnect invite you to explore creative art techniques while learning about local ecosystems to foster a deeper connection to the land. Dip inspiration from the river water in a guided watercolour workshop in the river environment. Forage nature materials as our art tools, or utilise paintbrushes, your canvas is completely open to your imagination.

Two sessions will be available: the morning is open to all ages and the afternoon open to young people (12-25 years old). Art materials and fruit/tea/coffee/juice will be provided.

Chris Walker is a proud Yorta Yorta man who works with Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project and Shepparton Art Museum as a local arts program facilitator, specialising in First Nations public programming.

RiverConnect is a community partnership project which aims to foster the community's love, respect and connection to the river environment, through engaging events, meaningful projects and a vibrant education program.
