    Event description

Olive Roots Collective invites you to join us for an evening of sharing - food, resources, and community.

We encourage you to deeply consider the politics of food as we witness the erasure of food systems as a conscious genocidal tactic in Gaza. Food and agriculture have been weaponised by Israel in Palestine as a crucial element in their attempt to remove Palestinians from their sovereign land.

On Wednesday 11th December, we will be hosting a three-course dinner featuring Palestinian cuisine, where people are invited to break bread with their fellow neighbours. We will be working alongside Playte to provide educational resources on food sovereignty in Palestine, using Playte’s signature creative style to engage with these learnings.

Tickets are pay-what-you-can. Our recommended general ticket price is £30-35, and £15-20 for lower income earners, however we strongly encourage all to come at any level of donation you are able to make.

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go towards Thamra, a charity dedicated towards food sovereignty and land restoration in Palestine. Thamra is a Palestinian organisation based in Gaza, distributing seeds to local families in an effort to create self-sustaining, fresh food resources, as well as planting hope and continuing the people’s connection to their land.
