River Wild ~ 5Rhythms Waves Workshop with Layah Jane

River Wild - A 5Rhythms Waves Workshop with Layah Jane

Each of us swims in the currents of our life’s unfolding.
An eddy here, an undertow there,
A winter freeze, a spring gush,
A wishing well, a white water rush.

The way our stories unfold is unique, and, each of us is carried by the same water that has always been, will always be, and is always changing. From raindrop to stream, river to lake, and from ocean to cloud once more. We are in process, in transformation. We belong to change.

5Rhythms movement practice delivers us Wave after Wave, to move with the certainty of uncertainty, to practice the art of change, and to grow in an environment of both discipline and freedom.

Together let’s cultivate our capacity to listen.
Let’s strengthen our muscles of creative action.
Let’s gather, get down, grapple, and give thanks.
Let’s dive into the mystery, feet first, heart whole, and soul-filled.

Let’s follow the wild unfolding!

Into the river we go.

About Layah

Layah Jane Singer-Wilson is a healing artist ~ a movement facilitator, dancer, and musician.

Layah first fell for 5Rhythms in her late teens and for the last 20+ years has steeped herself in movement meditation practice. Passionate about offering people sacred space to experience motion as medicine, Layah has facilitated expressive movement since 2003 for all ages on all kinds of dance floors: classes, gyms, offices, barns, fields, forests, and studios.

Her work is infused with expressive enthusiasm, a fascination with the weave of ritual and improvisational art, and a reverent love of creative practice as a transformational and political act.

Alongside her family, Layah stewards Black River Farm and Wilderness in Ontario, where she is in an ongoing apprenticeship with the land, the river, and the more-than-human world. This relationship of listening, tending, and co-creation continues to shape her understanding of movement, belonging, and the wild intelligence and mystery of life.

Layah is a member of the International Conscious Movement Teachers Association and a certified 5Rhythms teacher accredited with the 5Rhythms Teachers Association. All study hours with Layah count as prerequisites towards future 5Rhythms teacher trainings.
