Riverfest: Strathfield Council Mangrove Forest Clean Up Day
Event description
Join us on Friday, 26 September, from 11am to 1pm for a clean-up day in the Mangrove Forest at Powells Creek.
The event is organised by Stormwater Shepherds, an international not-for-profit dedicated to restoring the health of our waterways, and is supported by Strathfield Council and Parramatta River Catchment Group.
This event is in partnership with the Parramatta River Catchment Group's annual community event, Riverfest. To learn more about other Riverfest events that celebrate the Parramatta River and the surrounding creeks and environment, click here.
Date: Friday, 26 September 2025
Time; 11am - 1pm
Where: Powells Creek Reserve.
Meeting point: We’ll meet at the Bressington Park carpark and then head down to the Mangrove Forest. Participants will be given a flyer to place on their vehicle dashboards to avoid parking fines.
Please remember:
A hat, sunscreen, water bottle, comfortable and breathable clothing that covers the entire body, closed-toe shoes (gum boots recommended) and a pair of gloves. We will provide everything else for you.
Please use public transport, carpool or walk/cycle to the event where possible.
Treat all staff and the community with respect.
