Make Change Stick: online workshop
Description
Join this practical online workshop to explore why some change efforts gain traction while others stall, and learn how to create the conditions for lasting impact in complex human systems.
Designed for leaders driving change in human systems, we will explore practical approaches to turn good ideas into sustainable change that sticks.
Why you should attend:
Too often, promising ideas struggle to gain traction and deliver the intended impact.
Most organisations spend significant time understanding problems and designing solutions. Far fewer spend enough time considering what conditions are needed for those solutions to take hold, survive leadership changes, navigate resistance and deliver lasting outcomes.
As a result, promising initiatives often stall, pilots fail to spread, and reform efforts lose momentum before their benefits are realised.
In this two-hour online workshop, ThirdStory’s leading practitioners, CEO and founder Keren Caple, and Director Innovation Practice Jethro Sercombe, will share our roadmap tool, a practical approach to understanding what it takes for change to stick.
This workshop is designed for:
CEOs and executive leaders
Program and service leaders
Reform and transformation leaders
Innovation, strategy and policy teams
Funders, commissioners and systems stewards
who are responsible for turning ambitious ideas into meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
You will leave with:
a practical introduction to ThirdStory’s Roadmap for enabling systems change tool
a clearer understanding of the conditions that support successful implementation
new ways of thinking about implementation in complex systems
practical prompts and questions you can apply to your own work immediately
access to a tool you can continue using beyond the workshop
You will gain:
A two-hour participatory online workshop facilitated by leading systems change and innovation practitioners from ThirdStory.
Access to ThirdStory's Roadmap Tool: a practical framework informed by implementation science, systems change and real-world reform experience. The tool helps leaders understand the conditions required for change to take hold, scale and sustain impact over time.
The Roadmap Tool has been informed by years of work supporting large-scale change efforts across education, early years, out-of-home care and other social and community systems in Australia and internationally.
What makes this workshop different?
Many implementation approaches focus on projects, plans and delivery milestones.
The Roadmap Tool takes a broader view. It helps leaders understand the conditions that influence whether change succeeds or fails, including leadership, governance, capability, resources, learning, innovation and service design.
Rather than focusing only on what needs to change, it helps leaders think about what must be true for change to stick.

Please note: the session will be recorded for ThirdStory quality and learning purposes. Digital documents containing information about the roadmap tool will be provided to participants following the session.
