    Event description

Rob is a civil engineer and founder of "Nuclear for Climate Australia".

Rob is past President of the Australian Nuclear Association and  an ex member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and has had extensive experience with large civil engineering projects all over the world. He has a Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering from ANU. He maintains an excellent website Nuclear for Climate Australia which explains why nuclear power is a critical technology if we are to get to net zero.

Rob lives in the Southern Highlands of NSW but is sufficiently impressed with what The Brisbane Dialogues are doing that he is flying up at his own expense to speak to the First Tuesday Club.

Perhaps you agree; perhaps you are vehemently opposed; maybe you are unsure about this technology.  Let's enjoy an evening hearing and discussing Rob's arguments in our usual spirit.

    First Tuesday Club General

Light food and drinks available throughout around the big table. Arrive from 5.30pm to meet and catch up with TBD people. Guests are free to leave from 7pm but the discussion always continues. Usual location to be detailed on confirmation emails.

Attendance is normally limited to 14 people which is about the maximum for everyone to have a say and maintain a single discussion. Discussions are not recorded and of course The Brisbane Rule applies. In some cases, the Chatham House Rule may be invoked. First Tuesday provides a safe space for free speech from differing perspectives.

"Pay forward or what you can afford" to keep FTC self-sustaining and contributing a little to The Brisbane Dialogues, with student and young grad volunteers and interns (and former speakers and valued sponsors) very welcome to enjoy a freebie.

Note that FTC is a private series for active volunteers, interns, supporters and partners of The Brisbane Dialogues. Email us if you would like to be involved, or would like to bring a guest who is.

    Generously supported by JDA Co
