'Robinson House' – SHD Home Tour

This event has passed Select a tour time

Event description

Sustainable House Day is an event from Renew that provides the opportunity to explore some of Australia’s most inspiring homes, and learn from the people who designed them, built them, and live in them.

Please note that you will need to book in to a specific tour time, and if you do not arrive at this time you will not be able to tour the home. This is due to capacity restraints set by the homeowner to ensure the safety of all parties on the day.

You will be sent the address in the days before the event.

About this home

Tailored to its location, 'Robinson House' maximizes airflow in summer and solar energy in winter. Constructed with insulating Timbercrete bricks and R4 wool insulation, it maintains year-round comfort. Large sliding doors on both sides and internal sliders enhance natural cooling. Deciduous trees to the north provide shade in summer. The home boasts a slow combustion fire for occasional use, adding warmth in winter. Situated on Bushfire Prone Land, it prioritizes thermal comfort and high bushfire resistance, ensuring safety and sustainability.
