Robo Rumble Workshop: Build and Battle Sumo Bots!
Ages 9+
Robo Rumble is a full-day workshop designed for kids aged 9 and up who have some experience in coding. Children will work in pairs to learn basic robotic and engineering concepts as they build and program their own LEGO Sumo Bots.
Starting with the base kit, kids will learn to master movement and control before exploring various sensors and how they can be used to seek out opponents, deter advancing enemies and remain undefeated on the battlefield. The day will culminate in a thrilling Sumo Bot Battle, where participants will put their creations to the test and compete for a position in our Sumo Bot Wars.
Through this interactive, fast-paced and fun workshop, kids will develop teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills as they work collaboratively to build and battle their Sumo Bots. This workshop also serves as an excellent foundation for entry into events such as First Lego League, where participants can further develop their skills and compete against other teams.
Additional Information
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the workshop at the ANSTO Discovery Centre.
- Workshop includes a recess and lunch break outside (weather permitting). Please bring a bag with sunscreen, snacks, a hat and drink bottle.
