Event description

Rock On For Climate Action 2025, at Smokey Dan’s, will include live music, public speakers, delicious food and creative displays by local environmental groups.

After a terrific first Rock On in May 2024, we are super excited to bring an even better 2025 event, this time including two out-of-area bands that are going to absolutely rock out!

The event endeavours to leave people inspired and empowered to make positive change to combat climate change. The event will also raise funds for local climate activist group 350 Eurobodalla.

Music will be provided by 4 stellar acts: Satin Cali (Wollongong), ARCHIE (Canberra), Sam Fletcher Band (local) and Polaroid (local).

Rock On For Climate Action is led by local musician Sam Fletcher with help from 350 Eurobodalla, Eurobodalla Shire Council, Good Vibes and Smokey Dan's. “I want to bring a positive experience to the community that encourages hope.”

All donations to 350 Eurobodalla welcome!

SATIN CALI

Satin Cali, emerging from the vibrant Wollongong music scene, stands as a rising powerhouse in East Coast indie-rock. With the compelling vocals of Zac Goluch leading the way, the band effortlessly weaves nostalgia and authenticity into their distinct sound.

In recent months, Satin Cali has been actively engaging audiences nationwide, pounding the pavement to bring their music to the forefront. From headlining their East Coast tour in support of 'Lights Out' to supporting acclaimed acts like The Terrys and Coterie, the band's journey has fortified their commitment to crafting a unique and compelling show.

Known for music that is instantly attention-grabbing, marked by boldness, a diverse sonic influence, and a representation of indie dynamism, Satin Cali has garnered support from fans of bands like Hockey Dad, DMA’S, and The VANNS. As their body of work continues to expand, the band eagerly anticipates the most fruitful moments of their journey, poised for even greater heights in the days to
come.

ARCHIE

Shortly after forming in late 2018 while studying at the ANU School of Music, these four unusually happy scallywags found a kindred spirit in Archie, Xandy’s dog, who reflects all of the charisma, energy, and happiness ARCHIE the band dream of conveying with their music.

Since their launch at the start of July 2019, ARCHIE has seen a meteoric rise in the local Canberra scene. Beginning with shows alongside well-established hometown heroes, they soon doubled-down on their infectious live shows by supporting the likes of Surf Trash, Neko Pink and BENEE. This has culminated in a string of sold-out headline shows around Canberra, with fans turning up in their hundreds.

Soon after, the release of "Blink" saw the band perform alongside long-time-idols Lime Cordiale, as well as feature in the pilot episode of Immersion Sessions, in which they performed live from one of the world's finest recording studios, Studios301.

"All 200 of us punters were sold on the band’s musicianship and songwriting. As the songs keep coming, this band will keep finding new and unexpected ways to channel that energy into something special"
Hayden Fritzlaff, The RiotACT

SAM FLETCHER

Sam Fletcher has two musical directions: Weaving timeless melodies of folk and country or fronting hisfeel good rock band, the Sam Fletcher Band. In both settings, Sam is a musical story teller with the belief that authenticity is the heart of great music. Through skilful acoustic guitar, banjo and smooth vocals, Sam’s solo performance creates a rich tapestry of narrative and emotion. Meanwhile, his band show is characterised by singing guitar riffs as Rolling Stones roots are infused with Sam’s distinctive and fresh ‘surf’ vibe.

Sam is honoured to be the senior category 2024 NSW Folk Federation Young Folk Artist of the Year.
