Event description

View Dunedin’s building stone and landforms through a geologist’s eyes on this enthralling stroll through downtown Dunedin.

City Walks guide Athol Parks and local geologist Nick Mortimer lift the lid on Dunedin’s building stone and underlying geology on this engaging foray through Dunedin’s old downtown. This gentle two-hour walk takes in key sites including Bell Hill and Dunedin's old shoreline, and takes a fresh look at familiar structures and buildings including Garrison Hall and St. Paul's Cathedral. You’ll think like a geologist, and use tools of the trade to conduct your own research, on this informative and entertaining walk.

All proceeds from the tours will go to the University of Otago Geology Museum.

Cost: $10/ adult, $5/ child
