    You're invited

Southern Cancer Care invites you to an evening of community consultation integrated with an extraordinary art exhibition. Southern Cancer Care is committed to build tailored resources, to better prepare and support carers through cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Southern Cancer Care is a not-for-profit organisation advocating and fundraising for the projects inspired by the cancer care centres within our St George and Sutherland community.

Our guest artist, Becky, journalled her story of great love and support for her late partner Nat through cancer. Join us for the opening of “Rolling the dice with cancer” on Friday, 18 October 2024, 6 - 9 pm at The Cottage*, Hazelhurst Arts Centre (* heritage cottage, limited accessibility).

Becky’s images are raw, honest and will inspire this discussion with our community. Come and be part of a night filled with art, compassion and community. Together, we can make a difference.

We're excited to partner with Hazel, the soon-to-launch cafe and events team at Hazelhurst Arts Centre, who will give us an exclusive sneak peek of their incredible menu before their official debut in November. Expect mouthwatering canapés and beverages that will nourish you as we consult, reflect and foster a stronger network of support for carers.

    What to expect:

    • Thought-provoking artwork exploring love, loss and resilience
    • A community consultation on how we can better support carers
    • Drinks, canapés and a chance to engage with the local community

Come for the art, stay for the conversation and enjoy the unforgettable food experience.

    CARERS WEEK 2024

Join us this Friday to recognise Carers Week and engage in meaningful conversations about how we can better support carers. Rolling the Dice with Cancer is more than an art exhibition — it’s a space for reflection, understanding and fostering a more compassionate community for those who care for others.

This is more than an exhibition – it’s a chance to foster a stronger support network and resources for carers.
