Romantasy Focus Group
Event description
Calling all Romantasy readers! Kacy Tillman from the University of Tampa is working on a project to define Romantasy and to create a profile of its readers. She has been conducting focus groups at local bookstores and is hosting one at Book + Bottle!
Focus groups will be used to interview Romantasy readers about their reading preferences, habits, and definitions of Romantasy and its tropes. Interviews will be recorded but pseudonymized. Results will be used to fill in gaps of a 400(n) national survey so that Kacy Tillman can write an article on Romantasy and its Readers to be shared at the Pop Culture Conference in New Orleans in April 2025 and published in a peer-reviewed journal thereafter.
