Romantic Piano Recital with Hugo Christensen
Nurturing Young Talent
We are delighted to announce the next event in our concert series, featuring rising young pianist Hugo Christensen, a talented musician from the West Gippsland region of Victoria.
This recital will explore the rich and expressive world of Romantic piano music, featuring works by Chopin, Brahms and Liszt. From tender expressions of love and passion to darker, more dramatic musical landscapes, the program promises a captivating journey through the many moods and emotions of the Romantic era.
This special event will also mark the launch of our 2027 Concert Series program, with annual subscriptions available for purchase on the day. We warmly invite you to join us after the performance for complimentary drinks and nibbles, as we celebrate another exciting year of wonderful music and the opportunity to nurture outstanding young talent.
Meet the artist: Hugo Christensen has studied with pianist Dr Tristan Lee for the past three years and performs regularly throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria. He has already earned an impressive list of accolades in eisteddfods and competitions, including the Latrobe Valley Piano Championship Award, the Isobel Simon Musicianship Award and the Lythgo Piano Scholarship. Hugo has also achieved both his AMusA and LMusA diplomas with Distinction, demonstrating his exceptional musical ability and dedication to his craft.
A significant highlight of Hugo’s musical journey came last year when he made his concerto debut performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor, K. 466, winning first prize in the St Paul’s Academy of Music Concerto and Aria Competition. In 2027, Hugo plans to continue his musical studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Join us for an inspiring concert celebrating exceptional young talent and the enduring beauty of great piano music. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the artistry of a promising young musician as he continues to develop his musical career.
