On August 18th, held on the waning crescent moon - the moon of the wise woman, we will be journeying with rosemary.

Flow of the evening:

You will be guided through a grounding breathwork practice, supporting you to release any tension and distraction, and create space for the plant journey ahead and your intention.

We will open the journey with sacred smoke (rosemary smudging), followed by guided visualisation to meet the spirit of rosemary. We will then sit in meditation with rosemary tea, receiving their medicine and guidance.

There will be a moment for journalling and the listening space will be open for heart and wisdom sharing. This will be followed by a rosemary water ritual for cleansing, remembrance and integration.

We will close the circle with prayers, song, and poetry.

What you will need:

Your altar, set with meaningful items
A candle + matches
Dry rosemary, rosemary smudge stick or any other sacred smoke of your preference
Rosemary tea (rosemary-infused water)
Fresh rosemary
A bowel with water
Journal and pen (watercolour, crayons etc)

Plant overview:

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a fragrant evergreen herb native to the Mediterranean. It thrives in sunny, dry conditions and has narrow, needle-like leaves that emit a strong, piney aroma when crushed. Its small, blue or white flowers bloom in early spring, symbolising renewal and vitality. The plant has long been revered for its culinary uses, medicinal properties, and spiritual significance.

Rosemary is often associated with memory and remembrance. Ancient Greeks and Romans used rosemary to aid memory and to honour those who passed away. It was commonly worn as a wreath in funerary rituals, symbolising the eternal nature of the soul. In some traditions, rosemary is considered a protector of the home and is thought to bring peace, clarity, and focus.

In herbalism, rosemary is revered for its potent healing properties. It’s said to invigorate the mind and spirit, helping to clear mental fog and enhance cognitive function. It’s also thought to have protective qualities, guarding against negative energies and promoting healing, being frequently used in smudging and water rituals for purification and cleansing.
Rosemary is a medicinal plant said to aid in digestion, relieve headaches and muscle pain. As a circulatory stimulant, it can promote blood flow and invigorate the body, enhancing energy levels and vitality.
