Jessica (Ika) Trijsburg was a Melbourne Rotary Peace Fellow who went from Melbourne to Duke University and Chapel Hill in North Carolina in 2011-13. Ika now works across a number of areas but disinformation is one of the major issues that Ika works on at the ANU with the Municipal Association of Victoria.

Ika is a Research Fellow in City Diplomacy at the Melbourne Centre for Cities, working on the Shared Pathways to CoP28 project to strengthen city-level engagement in global climate governance. She is completing a PhD at Monash Sustainable Development Institute on the role of diverse decision-makers in local climate resilience.

A Rotary Melbourne nominated Peace Fellow (UNC/Duke, 2011–13), Ika has a strong background in participatory research, intercultural education, and refugee and migrant health. She has worked across local government, academia, and civil society in Australia and Indonesia, including leading initiatives on Muslim-Christian dialogue, reconciliation, and youth leadership.

Her work has been recognised internationally, including selection to two Council of Europe Intercultural Cities working groups on social impact evaluation and anti-Muslim hatred.

This should be of major interest to Rotarians given some of our international health projects and peace initiatives.

Please note this is an online only event.
