Rotary Peacebuilding Group Meetup with George Newhouse

The next regular Sydney Rotary Peacebuilding Group meeting will be on Thursday 1 April at 6pm via Zoom.
We are very privileged to have as our guest speaker George Newhouse, the Director of the National Justice Project.
The National Justice Project is a non-profit civil rights organisation dedicated to tackling systemic injustice and racism within government institutions. With a proven track record of working with vulnerable people and communities, the National Justice Project uses the law and education to create change.
George will speak about his personal journey from Sydney Grammar School and law at UNSW through to the world of corporate finance in New York and London and eventually as champion of human rights. His experience extends from coronial inquests into Aboriginal deaths in custody and representing refugees and asylum seekers in court to getting children out of detention centres in Nauru. George has also worked closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and is – like us – a strong supporter of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
