Rotary's 34th Annual Beach Volleyball Extravaganza!
Event description
THINGS TO KNOW…
Above all, it's NOT A BYO EVENT. Remember this is a family fun day and a major fundraising activity but there are some rules to follow. First off, we need to thank our major sponsors: Rio Tinto, Nhulunbuy Corporation, Gove FM, Gove Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club, Datjala Work Camp, Nhulunbuy Speedway, Seaswift and Dhimurru. Without the support of these local organisations each year, this event simply wouldn't happen. From us and the community - THANK YOU.
We also wish to thank the Traditional Owners of Middle Beach and thank them for graciously allowing us to use it for our event.
Now for the rules ....
o A minimum of six (6) players is required per team, plus reserves if desired. Teams must be mixed, with a minimum of two (2) females per team and on court during each match.
o Teams may adopt a uniform or theming of their own choosing. However, bearing in mind that this is a family event and Rotary must uphold its wider organisation values of safety, courtesy, dignity and respect, we request participants to abide by these rules:
- No nudity or suggestive costuming/theming that is inappropriate in a public space where children will be present.
- No representation of other cultures that may cause offence.
- Teams and spectators are asked to be mindful of their behaviour and language on the beach as children will be present.

o 40 TEAMS ONLY WILL BE REGISTERED FOR THIS COMPETITION
o All players must read/understand/accept the indemnity terms/conditions and sign the form or they will be disqualified from competing.
o Nomination fee is $35 per player including reserves. You need to purchase a team ticket for 6 players and use the add-ons function to add your additional team members.
o Team fees (in total) must be paid to Nhulunbuy Rotary Club via Eventbrite.
o Captain's briefing will be held at 6:15pm on the Wednesday and Thursday before the event where the rules, expectations and possibly the draw will be provided. You can return the indemnity forms at this stage as well.

• This is a licensed event and there is strictly NO BYO ALCOHOL is permitted.
o Licenced security will be on site during the event to help enforce this condition and to maintain crowd control. If found with BYO alcohol, you will be ejected from the event. BYO alcohol can invalidate the liquor permit which will cause the event to shut down and the nominee to be fined. Nobody wants that, be sensible, it is a fundraising event.
