NEESHA ALEXANDER is a trailblazer in the Ballroom scene and a key figure in Meanjin’s underground music community. Named ‘DJ of the Year’ at the 2023 Queens Ball, Neesha has shared the stage with international artists like Jyoty and Partiboi69 and performed at both Sydney and Brisbane’s Boiler Room events in 2024. Neesha’s sound is a dynamic celebration of queer club music, effortlessly spanning genres like Afro, groove ballroom and hardstyle. Her sets blend rhythmic intensity with a fierce sense of freedom, creating an electrifying atmosphere that bridges cultural influences and keeps the dancefloor moving.

DJ SET (proper noun) is the latest project of Meanjin DIY mainstay Callum Galletly. Perhaps the truest, purest embodiment of the wonky swamp energy that defined the 2010 Meanjin underground, finding new life in the more recent era of deconstructed electronics. Callum is a prolific local performer & artist who's accolades include over a decade of drumming for beloved local 'rock' groups including Guppy, Black Deity, CLEVER & more - not to mention their mostly undocumented noise works in projects like Baby Angel and White King since the days of Real Bad.
