Roused At! pres. Tongue Dissolver [NAARM] w/ Guppy, Teva, Devotions
Event description
Roused At! Presents: TONGUE DISSOLVER [NAARM] live at The Bearded Lady!
Tongue Dissolver, one of the hottest nu things out of out of Naarm. Utterly corrosive high-nrg industrial dance floor violence. Comprised of former Meanjin artist Aldo Thomas, of Bodies of Divine Infinite Eternal Spirit (aka b.o.d.i.e.s/fka bodies) & Wet Kiss fame, as well as Ruby Lee (also from b.o.d.i.e.s & Wet Kiss) and Andrew Huhtanen McEwan (Ahm, Huntly.)
Live bass guitar, percussion, electronics and beats, taking form as an extension of the body or the kiss into improvisation and pulse. A novel union of “punk” and “rave” working methodology. Ever heard of that shit before?? Tung fuckin Dizzy.

Guppy are Pig City’s favourite sludge funk post-punk mavens, and require no introduction, despite the one being given. They’ve supported Deerhoof, Uranium Club, and one would not be remiss to say they’ve “done heaps.” Debut LP ‘777antasy’ to be venerated in the annals of history.

TEVA is Teva Perrard, a little bundle of joy. Absurdly talented synth pop & dance producer loved by many, active for over a decade in the BNE underground. Witness power of one man with a mic and a laptop. No notes, what a guy.

Devotions are a dream/-gaze/elektronik pop group. Core influences include 80’s post-punk, modern electronics, ambient music, and the art of Ed Hopper. Bleak, distant romanticism and fragility on record that belies a visceral live presence as a three-piece band.
