Royal Robotics FLL Skills Course

Event description

The FIRST Lego League is the world's biggest Primary School age robotics competition and Royal Robotics is here to teach you everything you need to know to set you up for success! Over 2 days of fun, we will teach you robotics concepts like building with strength and integrity, coding a robot to complete challenges and so much more! And the best part? Everything we learn will be used in fun and engaging mini-games and challenges along the way!

Learn these skills over 2, 4 hour hands on sessions with world renowned international winning students as personal educators! Build and construct your own robots to complete FLL style challenges and then program using world leading coding techniques with real world applications!

COVID Precautions:

For the duration of this workshop, there will be hand sanitiser and hand washing stations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As well as this, the group size (15) is smaller than our regular classes and social distancing will be enforced where possible.

Disclaimer:

This is a beginner to intermediate skill level course, however, all skill levels are welcome to attend. No prior experience is needed!

Workshop Dates:

Our workshops will from 9:00am - 1:00 pm at the University of the Sunshine Coast's Innovation Centre, on the 29th and 30th of June in the July school holidays.

What to Expect:

1. Those participating in our workshop will be taught intermediate building and programming skills for the LEGO® EV3 robots which will be used to complete fun challenges.

2. We will learn how to problem solve and work with each other to achieve the best outcome for you and your group.

3. Together, we will learn, have fun, make friends, and have a good time!

All workshop materials (i.e. laptops, robots) will be provided.

All participants are required to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.
