Event Activities

  • Lights, Camera...Mic On!

Step back in time and behind the podcast desk and become the co-host of The Spark! Using green screen technology, you'll appear inside the Public Media Center's podcast studio interviewing a special mystery guest at the exact time Tia went on her adventure!

  • Marketing Message Mix-Up

The Public Media Center's Marketing Team created an exciting social media post to promote Tia Flora's upcoming appearance. Everything was ready to publish...until a computer glitch scrambled the headline! The Marketing Team needs your help to decode the message before it can be shared with the community.

  • Robot Reveal

Every videographer has a busy schedule, capturing video, gathering equipment, reviewing footage, and making final edits before a story is ready to share. Today, you'll help retrace the videographer's steps to discover where they were when Tia Flora went on her adventure.

  • Sound Check Sleuths

Public media teams use sound to tell stories, create shows, and share information with the community. Audio engineers are the experts who record, edit, and make sure every sound is clear. At this station, you’ll listen carefully to mystery sounds recorded around the Public Media Center. Your job is to match each sound to the person on the timeline.

  • Station Story

The newsroom is preparing for the evening broadcast, but in the rush to meet the deadline, the reporter's interview notes about the Public Media Center's new CEO were accidentally mixed together. Some notes contain verified facts, while others are opinions that cannot be included in the news report. Families must help the newsroom sort the information so the story is accurate and ready for broadcast.

  • Sound the Alarm!

At this station, families will become inventors and engineers by using littleBits to design and build a working alarm system.

  • Story Time with Tia Flora

Join Pennon Education’s team for a special English-Spanish bilingual read-aloud! Designed for young readers and their families, these story time sessions feature some of our favorite children’s books—celebrating language, literacy, and the joy of reading together.
