Rueda and Ribera del Duero Dinner

VinoTeca is thrilled to introduce Bodegas Comenge. This organic Spanish winery is new to Georgia and we are one of the first to share it. Bodegas Comenge was founded in 1999 with the dream of building a winery devoted to making wines made in the vineyards. Jaime Comenge focuses on traditional winemaking and a true hands on approach from the fields to the winery.
The event will begin with two wines from the region of Rueda, an area dedicated to the grape Verdejo. Rueda's vineyards are known for the rocky soils that lead to distinctive flavors and complexity. We will be pouring Bodegas Comenge's Rueda offering as well as a wine from the famed Martinsancho winery.
The next three courses will focus on Ribera del Duero, one of the highest elevation regions in Spain. Tempranillo is the principal grape varietal here and the wines are full bodied, lush and tannic. Bodegas Comenge's offerings are traditional, yet have a certain elegance.

Chef Pedro Porra has created a four course menu that pairs perfectly with each wine and showcases the classic cuisine of the region.

Valdeón Cheese & Manchego "Cueva del Abuelo" with Quince Sweet
