Hazards

Uneven or Sloped Surfaces While the foreshore paths are mostly paved and flat, some areas may have slight inclines or uneven joins between path sections. Assistance may be needed for manual wheelchair users on inclines or during laps. Crowd Density The event may attract a large number of participants, which could make navigation difficult for people using mobility aids or with sensory sensitivities. A quiet or low-sensory area is recommended for those who may need a break from the crowd. Temporary Infrastructure Temporary toilets, signage, or tents may not always meet full accessibility standards unless specifically arranged. Ensure accessible portable toilets are clearly marked and placed on level ground. Weather Exposure The foreshore is an open area with limited shade. Prolonged sun exposure could be a concern for some attendees. Recommend bringing sun protection, water, and checking weather forecasts. Limited Accessible Parking ACROD bays are available but limited. Early arrival is advised. Consider offering a drop-off zone close to the event hub for easier access. Auditory or Visual Cues There may be limited auditory announcements or visual signage for people with hearing or vision impairments.
