Running Creek Camp

Join us for fabulous camping weekend on a Private Property out in the Scenic Rim

DATE: May 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th

LOCATION:  Lions Road, Running Creek (near Rathdowney)  Club Banner will be on the gate to indicate the property.

Camp Schedule:

Friday, May 2nd - Arrive from 2pm and set up camp.

Saturday, May 3rd - Saddle Up at 8.30am, Ride Out at 9.00am.  Saddlebag morning Tea & Lunch.  Ride approx 4 hrs

Sunday, May 4th - Saddle Up at 8.30am, Ride Out at 9.00am.  Saddlebag morning Tea & Lunch.  Ride approx 4 hrs  (Rocky in parts)

Monday, May 5th - Saddle Up at 8.30am - Ride Out 9.00am.  Saddlebag morning tea with lunch back at camp.  Ride 2 - 3 hours   

Food: BYO Saddle Bag Morning Tea for each ride, water bottles.  Own food for Friday & Sunday Dinner.

Camping:  BYO Food, Toilet, Horse Food & Fencing (Limited size space allocation).  Horse water available at the venue.  Shower available at the venue.

Saturday night:  A hearty dinner will be supplied by the club.

Rider Level:  Riders must be experienced and horses need to be reasonably fit.  

Terrain: Running Creek - 3 Days of riding around the foothills of Running Creek with some very spectacular scenery.  Horses need to be reasonably fit and be shod or have boots as parts of the terrain is rocky.  Property can sometimes be wet, so horse boots will need to be correctly fitted.

Camp Fees: Red Rivers Members - $25.00, Red Rivers Junior Members - $10.00, Athra Affiliated Members - $30, Non Riders - $10.00  (Plus Booking Fees - 2.5% Humantix + .50c Ticket Fee)

MUST BE A CURRENT ATHRA MEMBER

ATHRA recommends the following;

• Riders under 18 must wear an approved helmet

• It is recommended that riders wear full length trousers and sleeved shirt. Suitable smooth soled riding footwear

• Saddlebag for food / water

• No dogs on ride
