Running Great Workshops
Glasgow | Friday 5th & Saturday 6th September 2025
Time: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM each day
About this event
Tripod's Running Great Workshops will help you build skills and gather tools for excellent and participatory workshops. This training is open to anyone who wants to take their training skills to the next level, particularly those engaged in social change work - including NGO staff, community organisers, campaigners, and more.
Join us to transform your training approach and contribute to building a just and equitable world.
Training Dates
Friday 5th September (9:30–17:00)
Saturday 6th September (9:30–17:00)
Please note that this training consists of two parts, and we ask that you commit to attending both days. This ensures a consistent learning environment, as each section builds on the previous one, tailored to meet the evolving needs of the participants.
When you register, we’ll ask you a few questions to help us tailor the training and better understand who will be in the room. We’ll also ask about access needs so we can make the training as accessible as possible. The questions may take around 10–15 minutes to complete. If that’s a barrier, please email us at info@tripodtraining.org and we can figure out an alternative together.

Contribution/Exchange
At Tripod, we believe that access to training and capacity-building is essential to building powerful groups and movements. We use a sliding scale pricing model to reflect our values of solidarity, collective care, and redistribution. This model is designed to make our open trainings available to a wide range of people while resourcing the work needed to sustain and grow our movements.
Fees are set based on the total cost of running each training, taking into account who it’s for, how long it runs, and how many people we expect. You’ll find the specific scale for each offering on its registration page.
The actual cost of running this training is £4000, which covers facilitator fees, venue hire, materials, and access support. The cost per person is approximately £220.
If the ticket that best fits your situation is sold out, please email us at info@tripodtraining.org, we'd love to hear from you and will do our best to find a solution, whether that’s adding you to a waiting list or working out another arrangement.
We use a sliding scale so that the training is accessible to all:
For Individuals/Self-Funded:
Tier | Rate | Intended For |
Solidarity | Free | You are experiencing financial hardship, have no income, or access to public funds. |
Subsidised | £20 | You have low or irregular income, rely on benefits, or struggle to cover essentials. |
Supporter | £60 | You can meet your basic needs and have some stability. You’d like to contribute a bit more to support wider access. |
Contributor | £100 | You have stable income but no savings, and can help sustain the work beyond your own place. |
Sustainer | £220 | You have stable income and savings, and can contribute more. This covers the actual cost of your place |
Redistributor | £275 | You have financial stability, class privilege, and/or access to generational wealth. This tier helps subsidise free/low-cost places. |
For Organisations/Workplaces Funded:
Tier | Rate | Suggested For |
Solidarity Org | £70 | Volunteer-run groups or collectives with no core funding and income under £50k |
Supported Org | £150 | Grassroots orgs or small charities with £50k–100k annual budget |
Sustainer Org | £220 | Charities or collectives with £100k–300k budget |
Nurturer Org | £340 | Organisations with £300k–600k annual budget |
Redistributor Org | £425 | Larger NGOs or well-resourced orgs with £600k+ budgets or unrestricted funds |
How to Choose Your Tier
We trust you to choose the tier that feels right. The more of the following statements you answer YES to, the more appropriate it may be to choose a lower tier. The fewer you answer YES to, the more appropriate it may be to choose a higher tier.
For Individuals:
This sliding scale assessment is for you if you are paying for the training or program without financial support from an organization.
I am struggling to meet basic needs (housing, food, etc).
I have little or no income or savings.
I do not have inheritance or financial support from my family.
I am responsible for financially supporting others.
If you answered YES to most or all, please consider the Solidarity or Subsidised tiers.
If you answered YES to some and NO to others, consider the Supporter or Contributor tiers.
If you answered NO to most, the Sustainer or Redistributor tiers are likely the right fit.
For Organisations:
Consider a lower tier if:
You are grassroots, volunteer-run, or underfunded
You're attending in a volunteer or unpaid capacity
Your organisation has an annual budget under £100k
You rely primarily on short-term or unstable grants
Consider a higher tier if:
Your organisation has a budget of over £300k
You're attending in a paid capacity with a professional development budget
You are a larger or well-resourced NGO or for-profit organisation
By choosing a higher tier, you directly support others to attend, especially those most affected by the issues we’re addressing.
