Wed, 5 Nov, 3pm - Thu, 6 Nov, 4pm AEDT

Event description

Rural Ministries forum (UCA VicTas).

You're invited to a VicTas Rural Presbyteries PMs and Chairs rural ministries’ forum, hosted by the North-East Victoria Presbytery in Nagambie.  On Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 November we will pray, listen, discern and plan for our future work together. This is a continuation of the Zoom call hosted on Wednesday 10 September. We anticipate starting around 3pm on the Wednesday and finishing around 4pm on the Thursday.

Accommodation (motel), meals and meeting venue costs will be covered by the NEV presbytery and eLM. This will be an in-person meeting, and zoom attendance won’t be available.

Contacts:

Gereldine (NEV) is doing the local organising (food, accommodation and meeting space)

Nigel (eLM) is helping get the program together, and doing some admin.

You are providing content and good questions from your context.

(and could a couple of people (or teams) please volunteer to lead some worship)

In order to get the most of this meeting, we are asking that you register.

Then grab a cuppa while you respond to the following questions.

  1. What images (photos / paintings / comics) or stories of ministry in your context stand out as important to you?

  1. What is the best gift that local communities of faith / congregations have to offer rural communities?

  1. What worship resources do your communities use regularly, and how can they be strengthened (content, delivery, writers, etc)

  1. What topics or ideas would you like to yarn with other rural ministry leaders about?

(If you get stuck and need ‘another cuppa / another day’, just send in what you have - and send your updated version later).  Note: These will be shared and possibly used in our time together.

Thanks for coming, and a deep thank you for all you do to support our rural communities!!

Possible Outcomes:

  • Developing a comprehensive list of worship and liturgical resources for use in and by Rural communities of faith, and understanding how each one can be used in our contexts.

  • Articulating a range of shifts in rural ministry contexts, settings and leadership and how our discernment of ministry & mission leadership can be expanded.

  • Identifying what tools we have available to hold and distribute resources, and the training of leadership

  • Telling and collecting stories of ministry in a rural Vic and Tas context.

  • Praying together, with and for each other and our contexts
