Event description
Keynote: Challenges and Opportunities of the Digital Era
When: Sunday 15 September, 11AM-12:30PM
Where:Â Yackandandah Public Hall
Over the past decade, digital has become a critical part of our day to day lives. What does this hyper-connectivity mean for those who find themselves on the wrong side of the digital divide?Â
To answer this question and more, please join us for a keynote address from author and journalist Anna Krien.Â
Anna Krien is the author of the award-winning Night Games and Into the Woods, as well as two Quarterly Essays, Us and Them and The Long Goodbye. Anna’s writing has been published in The Monthly, The Age, Best Australian Essays, Best Australian Stories and The Big Issue. In 2014 she won the UK William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award, and 2018 she received a Sidney Myer Fellowship. Her debut novel, Act of Grace (Black Inc. Books) is out now.
Anna will be speaking about digital access as a human right in the information age, exploring the risks and rewards of digital connectivity, and discussing what this means for our experience of community.
This keynote address is presented by Rural Women Online, as part of the Yackandandah Digital Intensive (11-15 September) created by women, for women. Â
